Good morning, Elyria.
🚧 Accidents
Portside Apartments at Sheffield Lake experienced sewage flooding in 60 units four times since Thanksgiving, which forced residents into hotels and led to cleanup costs above $2 million (city officials say repairs will begin once Norfolk Southern approves the fix).
🎓 Education
Elyria Board of Education approved a $9M reduction plan Tuesday night to cut 45 teaching and staff jobs and limit busing to students living over two miles from school.
Final job cuts will be announced by early April (details pending) as the district responds to a deep financial crisis.
