Good morning, Elyria.

On Tuesday, the Ohio Department of Agriculture imposed a statewide quarantine to stop the invasive spotted lanternfly, limiting the movement of trees and nursery stock without a permit — a measure designed to protect local crops such as grapes, hops, and apples.

North Ridgeville approved a plan to add two crosswalks and improve lighting and signage at the Lorain Road and Cook intersection.

The measures follow the fatal accident of a 16-year-old last year, and the city will seek contractors to complete the work.
