A bridge along I-90 in Madison now bears the name of U.S. Army Specialist Jacob Ashton (whose family fondly recalls kayaking under it), honoring his legacy and service in the community.
The City of Elyria and the Elyria Council of Veterans have announced the return of the Hometown Heroes Banner Program to honor local veterans with banners installed along downtown lampposts in May.
Registration is open (banners cost $35) and 40 new displays will be added.
