- ➤ Egg prices have risen by over $3 from last year, leading 11 million U.S. households to start raising chickens while some Elyria residents try to lower their food bills. Rural King in Elyria received 100 chickens on Thursday — all sold within hours — though local residents are warned that feeding and raising the birds can be very expensive. Cleveland 19 News
