  • Expresso Bakery in Elyria reopened on Saturday under new owner Reggie Pettegrew after closing following a 2023 car crash and a brief reopening in 2024; about 1,700 customers visited the bakery as it restored its classic menu and added new treats in time for Mother’s Day.  Cleveland 19 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Retired Avon Lake teacher Kathy Leopold will graduate on May 17 just before her 80th birthday as she completes an associate degree at Lorain County Community College. She has taken classes in creative writing+folklore to keep her brain active and her book will be used by Lorain County Children Services as a learning tool.  Cleveland 19 News
