CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Lorain police are searching for Donte Griffin after he threatened customers while armed at a Dollar General; he is also wanted by Elyria police and Lorain County sheriff for felonious assault and other charges and people are asked not to approach him. Cleveland 19 News
- ➤ Lorain Police have searched for Donte Griffin, who allegedly threatened someone at Dollar General on Thursday and fled the scene — he is wanted with outstanding warrants from the Lorain County Sheriff's Office and Elyria Police and faces additional charges including assault, robbery, unlawful restraint and disrupting public service. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Ohio Department of Commerce issued a consumer alert warning residents about a scam that uses publicly available PPP loan information to steal online banking credentials and drain accounts using same-day ACH transfers. Residents are urged to verify calls by contacting their banks directly. Cleveland 19 News
- ➤ A rally was held Thursday at 2 p.m. on the Lorain County VA sidewalk on Abbe Road N in Elyria to protest federal cuts; the American Federation of Government Employees Local 31 (which represents VA workers) joined community supporters to raise concerns over plans to reduce staffing.
