  • A Madison Township boy saved his friend’s life when he helped put out a fire on Fairfax Avenue on June 2 — the child was burned while playing with gasoline. Keith Rawlings, Jr. received the Life Saving Award at a township meeting on June 16 — his family and the child’s family attended.  Cleveland 19 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Elyria police are searching for two boys ages 6 and 14 who left their home without permission Tuesday morning from the 800 block of Lake Avenue between 8 and 10 a.m.+ they ask anyone with information to call police immediately.  Cleveland 19 News
  • The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is searching for 28-year-old Robert Sicker—who poses a credible threat of serious physical harm—after he was last seen around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday near Riverview Elementary School; he is 5′11″ tall, weighs 200 pounds and wore black pants, a Riverside t-shirt and gray tennis shoes.  Cleveland 19 News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Dozens of industry professionals gathered this week at Lorain County Community College (organized by the Lorain County Commissioners and the county’s Community Development Department) to learn how Foreign-Trade Zones let Ohio manufacturers store and process imported goods without paying full duties. Local companies have shown growing interest as calls to join the program have doubled, which experts say could help lower costs amid rising tariffs.  News 5 Cleveland

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Tuesday, Cleveland Clinic announced that many Northeast Ohio locations will have extended hours. Starting July 7, outpatient appointments will be offered until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and elective surgeries will be available on Saturdays this summer—responding to patient feedback.  Cleveland 19 News
