ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Severe storms on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning left more than 29,000 FirstEnergy customers without power in Northeast Ohio—over 10,000 in Cuyahoga and 4,000 in Lorain counties—and a tree fell on a car and house on Delaware Ave in Elyria causing damage but no injuries as crews work to restore power.  Cleveland 19 News
  • During severe storms on Wednesday evening, a large tree fell onto a home near Fuller Road and Scott Court and damaged the roof and garage—trapping a car under debris while no injuries were reported.  Cleveland 19 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Elyria Police said a man was stabbed in Elyria Thursday night and taken to University Hospital for treatment while police took the suspect into custody—no additional details are available.  Cleveland 19 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Local history buff Scott Power said several grave stones in Columbia Township Cemetery have been covered by overgrown weeds and trees and appear swallowed by nature. Township trustee Mark Cunningham said crews will clean up the cemetery by the end of summer while finishing projects (like grass cutting and road paving) to keep the site safe.  News 5 Cleveland
