- ➤ Jacqueline Lewis organized the nine-year Marquis McCall basketball tournament in Lorain to help kids learn that violence can end a life quickly after she lost her sons to gunfire—local volunteers and mentors spoke with the players about handling conflict safely. - ➤ 19 News won multiple Great Lakes Emmy Awards on Saturday night in Indianapolis at 7:30 p.m., earning prizes for its 'Running from Robert' special in the News Special category and its coverage of Euclid Officer Jacob Derbin's murder in the Crime and Justice category. The station's weather show First Alert Focus also won an award, and reporter Michelle Nicks was inducted into the Silver Circle for her 25+ years of work — a sign of strong local reporting. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A woman was taken to the hospital after a house fire on the 300 block of Gull Drive in Pikewood Manor Mobile Home Park in Elyria, where firefighters worked for two hours, a dog died, and $40,000 in damage was reported while the incident remains under investigation. Cleveland 19 News
