COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio will reevaluate club operations for fall as $1.8 million in approved community learning center funds is frozen by the federal government — the group is reviewing its 34 clubs and seeking more private donations.  Cleveland 19 News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • ODOT asked drivers to move over and slow down for road crews with flashing lights because its teams have been involved in 74 crashes this year—nearly matching the 84 incidents recorded in all of 2024.  Cleveland 19 News

CRIME NEWS

  • A Cuyahoga County grand jury indicted 16 people for a $2.6M scam that used money orders at over 100 Walmart stores in Ohio and other states from December 2019 to January 2024—those charged will be arraigned at the County Justice Center later.  Cleveland 19 News
  • Rocky River police released new video from a June 19 road rage incident that shows Dr. Feras Hamdan using a homophobic slur and allegedly threatening Rep. Max Miller and his family while Miller called 911 at 9:30 a.m., and a Cuyahoga County grand jury indicted Hamdan on charges of ethnic intimidation and aggravated menacing—he is set to be arraigned on July 25 at 8:30 a.m.  Cleveland 19 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A vehicle recall in Lorain County has reduced the number of transit vehicles available, which may cause delays for Elyria riders. The county said it will use different vehicles marked with decals—so riders can still book rides while they wait for a permanent fix.  News 5 Cleveland
