  • A pedestrian crossing State Route 113 early Tuesday in South Amherst was struck by two cars and died—officials closed the road between Baumhart and Quarry Roads as they investigate the fatal accident.  Cleveland 19 News

CRIME NEWS

  • An Elyria man who spent (5 months) hiding after fleeing police is now charged with murder, assault and burglary in connection with the fatal shooting of Leonard McCall Jr. during a home invasion on Nov. 25.  Cleveland 19 News
  • Chester Township police arrested Terry Gatewood, accused of trying to strangle a woman, after they found him hiding in an attic of a Cedar Road home on Aug. 26 + the victim was taken to a local hospital.  Cleveland 19 News
  • The Lorain County Sheriff released new details Tuesday on the July murder of 28-year-old North Ridgeville man Robert Willis — fatally shot at the 1700 block of Meister Rd. on July 29 — as police arrested 21-year-old Jomar Perez on Monday and he remains held without bond.  Cleveland 19 News
