EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Voters in Lorain County rejected several school levies on Tuesday, forcing Elyria City Schools and other districts to prepare for deeper budget cuts. Superintendent Ann Schloss said the district, which had already trimmed $3 million from its budget after a previous levy failure, now plans staffing and program cuts to manage the shortfall. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The REVS22K Veterans Half Marathon will occur in Elyria on November 8 — Middle Avenue from 16th Street to Broad Street, Broad Street from Court Street to East Avenue, and Washington Avenue from Broad Street to Hamilton Street will be closed from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. — and motorists should plan alternate routes as only emergency vehicles will be allowed on the course. - ➤ Team USA player Laila Edwards, a Cleveland Heights native, returns home to play today at Rocket Arena — after recovering from a knee injury on Oct. 11. She joins fellow Ohio players Joy Dunne and Emma Peschel — as the series moves from Buffalo on Nov. 8 to Edmonton later in December. Cleveland 19 News
