- ➤ Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio hosted its second emergency food pantry pop-up on Wednesday, serving nearly 900 families from four Northeast Ohio counties with boxes of food like pears, apples, onions, and eggs. Today, the food bank will run a drive-through mobile pantry at Ely Stadium from 4 to 5:30 p.m.—offering local families valuable support. News 5 Cleveland
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ODJFS announced Wednesday that more than 360,000 Ohio families began receiving partial SNAP benefits due to new federal rules that cut payments by 35%—all eligible households will get their recalculated benefits over the next few days based on income, housing, and medical costs. The benefit amount for each family changes with earnings and deductions, and more payments will follow as calculations are completed. Cleveland 19 News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ United Soccer League announced Wednesday morning that Lorain County will be home to a new USL League Two club set to begin play in 2026 at ForeFront Field, with the team using about 75% of the Lake Erie Crushers' stadium. Chairman Andrew McDonnell said the club will face teams from Toledo, Cleveland and Akron in the USL's Great Forest Division + local partners will support plans to strengthen community engagement.
