- ➤ The Ohio Department of Commerce warned donors ahead of Giving Tuesday that scammers are actively targeting charitable contributions and urged everyone to verify charity legitimacy before donating. The department noted that imposter scams rose 47% in Ohio in the first half of 2025 (using trusted resources like the BBB Wise Giving Alliance and CharityWatch) and advised avoiding untraceable payment methods.
