- ➤ An Elyria City school at Westwood campus and its administrative building was placed on lockdown for about five minutes on Thursday afternoon as the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office investigated a suspicious vehicle—lockdown ended at 12:20 p.m. while a lockout continues to block entry. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Mike DeWine said Ohio schools may contact the state for campus safety recommendations following a school shooting — with Public Safety experts ready to review protocols and funds available to help schools improve safety — and he stressed the need for proper drills and trained staff in emergencies. - ➤ Lorain County leaders will vote today on a resolution to partner with Avon Lake and LORCO to create a new agency—CLERWTR—that will regionalize sewer systems using existing facilities.
